2007 Festival
Our 2007 program line-up included some of the most important new films to come out of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the region: Jasmila Zbanic's Grbavica: Esma's Secret (the winner of the Golden Bear at the 2006 Berlinale), Rajko Grlic's regional success Karaula (Border Post), Nedzad Begovic's Totally Personal (Sasvim Licno), as well as many wonderful, important works by new-generation filmmakers: Dzemal Sabic, Refik Hodzic, Berin Tuzlic, Isak Berbic and others. Our guests this year? Writer Igor Stiks, one of the most widely read young authors in the western Balkans, Ales Debeljak, the respectable Slovenian critic, essayist and poet, and the legendary filmmaker Rajko Grlic, the artistic director of Motovun Film Festival. One of the questions we had for our panelists and our audience was: what role could the Chicago Festival of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film play in the future? How can this festival grow? We would like to involve our audience in shaping this festival, so please contact us with your feedback. What films would you like to see in the future? How could the organization of our festival be improved? Please write to us: info@chicagobhfilm.org
