2006 Festival

The first year of our festival is a great success: six narrative feature films, three feature-length documentaries, a strong selection of short films, and, most importantly, over 300 visitors per night! A few people drove in from as far as Madison, Wisconsin and Des Moines Iowa, just for our festival. We also had a wonderful time and great conversations with our guests: writer Alexander Hemon, film scholar Pavle Levi, and filmmaker Sabina Vajraca. Our audiences had an opportunity to see important works of contemporary Bosnian-Herzegovinian film, such as Pjer Zalica's Days and Hours (Kod amidze Idriza) and Fuse (Gori vatra), Srdjan Vuletic's Summer In the Golden Valley (Ljeto u zlatnoj dolini), and a retrospective of works by the veteran filmmaker Ademir Kenovic: A Little Bit of Soul (Ovo malo duse) and Perfect Circle (Savrsen krug). Just as importantly, we had an opportunity to watch the rarely-seen short films by Jasmila Zbanic, Ahmed Imamovic, Dzemal Sabic, as well as feature documentaries by Sabina Vajraca (one of the festival guests), Nihad and Sead Kresevljakovic, Marko Mamuzic and Miroslav Mandic.
